Neighborhood Christian Centers, Inc. has 5 Site-Based sites across Memphis and 4 other neighborhood-based in various other communities. Our newest site for NCC to serve our Neighbors in Need is located in the Frayser community at the Pershing Park apartments, however we have grown new relationships in other areas as well. Pershing Park, NCC: Orange Mound, and Southeast Shelby have evolved to include more holistic programs. Pershing Park and Orange Mound will have after-school programs at their sites for the first time.
In Southeast Shelby, our NCC Site Coordinator Michelle Green has developed more relationships in the community across Hickory Hill, Collierville, and into the Fayette County. Over the past couple of weeks, we have seen the opening of the new Power Center Academy buildings in Hickory Hill that will host NCC at their campus for after-school programs.
Neighborhood Christian Centers, Inc. brought its Mobile Pantry initiative in partnership with the Mid-South Food Bank to St. Patrick Presbyterian Church in Collierville. Every month from March until October, NCC visits a new zip code to bring food to the most
impoverished and food insecure communities in Memphis. This month we owe thanks to First Tennessee Bank for sposoring the event and to First Tennessee and Grant & Co. for providing volunteers. Members from St. Patrick and Harvest Church in Collierville also provided help with volunteering and we are truly grateful to them, as well as The Orchard Church and Living Hope Church for their continued support in this community.
