Supporting Youth Education: Read 21

Are you passionate about education and willing to devote at least one hour a week to helping the youth in our community? If so, we encourage you to choose NCC. Your support is crucial in shaping a brighter future for these students. You can make a positive impact on the lives of young students and help foster a love for reading and learning. Your assistance in guiding and motivating them can be a valuable contribution to their educational development.
What you’ll be doing:
Help students log on to their devices.
Monitor and Assist students in maintaining focus on their reading task.
Provide additional tutoring when needed.
Encourage and motivate students in their reading journey.
Troubleshoot any technical issues students may encounter.
Youth Engagement Services Program

Join our Youth Engagement Services program and make a difference in the lives of inner-city youth! Through a dynamic series of seven programs, help kids discover car facts, master emotional control, explore their family tree, unleash creativity in the arts, and dive into the world of business, and more. Empower the next generation and volunteer today!
What you might be doing:

Join us for NCC’s 21st Annual Spring Jam, a beloved Spring Break experience that brings global culture, creativity, and hands-on learning to more than 1,200 Memphis youth. Each year we highlight a different country through an immersive, simulated “travel” experience designed especially for under resourced families and young people. This year, we’re celebrating America.
We’re seeking volunteers to help build and paint themed sets that will bring this year’s featured country to life. No artistic experience is required—just a willingness to jump in, get creative, and have fun.

Join us in empowering under-resourced youth at this year's Spring Break Experience in Memphis, Tennessee! This annual educational event offers a unique journey into art and culture, complete with simulations that include real IDs, vaccination security screenings, a virtual flight experience, traditional cuisine, and currency exchange. This year to celebrate our 21st Annual Spring Jam, we are coming to America!
This volunteer project involves welcoming and assisting youth as they navigate through America, visiting and learning about the cities of Washington DC, New York City, and Los Angeles.

College and Arts Audition Judges
April 14 – April 16, 2026
NCC is seeking professional adult volunteers (ages 25+) to serve as judges for teens auditioning for NCC's Summer College & Arts Program.
Judges will score three minute talent performances and conduct brief interviews. No specialized experience is required—just professionalism, attentiveness, and the ability to provide fair, objective evaluations across a variety of artistic disciplines.
